Time Clock: Quick Start Guide

This quick start guide will provide guidance on what you’ll need to get started using your new time clock with the Checkwriters system.

Mount the Time Clock

To mount the clock on the wall, you’ll need the time clock, mounting template, and mounting hardware.

 


Connect the Time Clock to the Power Supply

Next, you’ll need to connect the Time Clock to the AC power supply.

 


Connect the Time Clock to the Internet

After connecting the power supply and powering up the clock, follow these steps to establish the internet connection. 

WiFi Connection

If connecting the time clock to WiFi, follow these steps:

  • Select the Admin button (found in the top right of the clock).
  • Select Communication.
  • Select WiFi.
    • Toggle the WiFi icon to enable WiFi on the clock.
    • Choose a Network to connect to.
    • Enter the network Password.
    • Select Join.

Ethernet Connection

If setting up the clock to connect to the internet via an ethernet connection, you will first need to connect the ethernet cable.

After the ethernet connection is set, follow these steps on the clock:

  • Select the Admin button (found on the top right corner of the clock).
  • Select Communication.
  • Select Ethernet.
    • Toggle the Ethernet selection.
    • Continue with the network set up.

 


Reboot the Time Clock

Once you have connected the clock to the internet (via WiFi or ethernet connection), reboot the time clock. 

To reboot, disconnect the clock from the power source and then reconnect it to the power source.

 


Test the Network Connection

After rebooting the time clock, it’s good practice to test the network connection.

  • Select the Admin button (found on the top right corner of the clock).
  • Select Communication.
  • Select Network Diagnostics.
  • Select Test Network Connection.
    • Results from the test display in the box below the Test Network Connection button.

Tip: If you encounter any issues when testing the network connection, try unplugging/plugging in the device to reboot or contact support@checkwriters.com.


Admin Menu Access

After verifying you have a successful network connection, the clock is now ready for use and will require administrator login credentials to access the Admin menus.

The clock is set with a default username and password. The password will be provided to you in your “getting started” email from Checkwriters.

  • Default Username: admin
