Overview

We have added a new field to the Employee Center Demographics tab. This field can be used to add an extra identifier to your employee records and is completely customizable.

This new field, once set up, can be found by navigating to HR Admin (module) → Manage Employees → Employee Center → select 2024-02-08_16-42-31 Employee → Information (tab) → Demographics (tab).

Set Up Custom Field

To set up this Custom Demographic Field, navigate to Company (module)→ Company Setup → EE Custom Fields → Setup (tab).

  1. Select Add New. The Custom Field Setup pop-up will appear.
  2. Set the Screen to “Demographic.”
  3. Set the Type to “Dropdown” or “Text.” This selection will make your Custom Field show as a dropdown menu with predetermined options or as a text field. You can only have one Custom Demographic Field, so you must decide which option is best for your company's needs.
    1. If you selected “Dropdown” for the Type, set the Field to “Employee Dropdown.”
    2. If you selected “Text” for the Type, set the Field to “Employee Text.”
  4. The Name field will be used to title your Custom Demographic Field.
  5. Check the Allow Employee to Enter checkbox if you want your employees to be able to make their own selections for this field in their Employee Self-Service (ESS) portal.
  6. Select Save.

Finish Setup

If you chose to create a text box for this Custom Demographics Field, you will be able to enter anything into the field after the Custom Demographics field has been saved and created.

If you chose to create a dropdown for this Custom Demographics field, you will need to set the Dropdown Options.

  1. Switch from the Setup tab to the Dropdown Options tab.
  2. Using the dropdown menu, select the name of your new Custom Demographic Field.
  3. Select Add New to create a new option for the dropdown.
  4. Select Save.
  5. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have created all the dropdown options needed for your Custom Demographic field.
