04/07/2025 Release Notes: Employee Demographics Field Updates

These release notes document improvements to the Checkwriters software released on 04/07/2025.

Overview

We have updated the Employee Demographics pages to specify legal and preferred names. Some fields have been renamed and some fields have moved locations within the page.

Note: The images used in this release note show the employee demographic changes on the Employee Center Demographics tab. All other affected pages will appear similarly.

Field Name Changes

The following are field name changes:

The First Name field is now called First Name (legal).
The Last Name field is now called Last Name (legal).
The Nickname field is now called Preferred Name
The SSN field is now called Social Security Number (SSN).

Field Location Changes

The following fields all moved from the Additional Info section to the Employee section of the affected pages:

Salutation
Suffix
Preferred Name (previously "Nickname")

Manage Employees
- Employee Center → select Employee → Information (tab) → Demographics (tab)
- Demographics (tab)
Hire Employees
- Add New Employee
- New Hire Center → New Hire Pending → select Employee → Information (tab) → Demographics (tab)
- New Hire Center → Employer OnBoarding → Onboard → My Info

Payroll Module

Edit Employee Info → Employee Center → select Employee → Information (tab) → Demographics (tab)
